Our program centers on children’s shows, which are specifically written for the six to eleven age group. Since this is a teaching theatre the children are not subjected to the audition process. All children are entered into the program on a first come, first served basis based on the maximum allowed by each individual show.
Our six-week program is broken into two sections. During the first two weeks our students work on reading orally, developing a monologue, exercises (breathing and physical) to develop vocalization skills, basic dance (when needed) and character development games. After the first two weeks each student is assigned a role based on their observed abilities and the final four weeks are used to rehearse the show! At the end of the program the students perform their show at the Boulder Creek High School Little Theater (minimum two performances).
